Adonia La Camera set out to build a portfolio analytics platform for long-term investors that goes beyond price charts and shows how investments are actually performing.
His ProStock Tracker needed a backend that could keep a 500M+ price dataset current across 84 exchanges, and power performance reporting built on a custom methodology.

A data-heavy portfolio tracker on a fragile foundation
Adonia built the frontend in Bubble.io and outsourced the backend. The code he got back was hard to maintain. Every change caused regressions, while every testing round revealed a new batch of bugs he kept spending money to fix. A demo-ready product was nowhere in sight. It needed a refactored backend, built for syncing and reporting on massive market data

Scope locked, delivery plan set
Based on Adonia’s requirements, we scoped the backend for reporting, validation, user management, and the API layer to connect the Bubble.io frontend.

Our solution architect worked day-to-day with a full-time engineer. We briefly added one more engineer, then returned to the core setup.

API-first backend in 6 months
We delivered a maintainable NestJS backend with REST APIs so the UI could reliably load portfolio, performance, and report data.

After the main scope, we switched to hourly support to refine the product based on demo feedback as Adonia started promoting it.

The platform does the tricky math to turn raw market and portfolio data into performance reports: it applies buys/sells, dividends, and corporate actions (like splits) so returns reflect what actually happened to user’s money, not just price fluctuations
